Proportions of stone stool 02 by Lee Sisan
Each piece is made to order and uses natural stones, so please expect some variability in design.
“Proportions of stone” is a modeling experiment on the fundamentality of stone cast away by natural phenomena. Consisting of tables, chairs, and other functional furniture pieces, the dimensions of each piece were determined by the stones borrowed from nature. The shapes and functions of the designs were only formed after. Stones mounted on manufactured steel plates play both structural and aesthetic roles. These juxtaposed mediums are opposite, yet balanced – fulfilling the artist’s desire to “balance the relationship between nature and artifact.”
