1. Where were you born and where are you from ?
I was born in Russia, in small village.
2. What is your first memory connected to the art world ?
I fell asleep in the Russian Hermitage Museum when I was a teenager.
3. Have you always worked in the art/design field ?
I have an education as an architect and an artist, so it was always nearby, in fact, all my hobbies eventually led me to what I do now.
4. What led you to the design creation ?
Internal, irresistible activity that encourages you to create. I think every creative person understands what I mean.
5. How would you describe your creative process and it influences ?
I write down all my ideas on a sheet of paper that lies on my desktop, then from the entire list, I make sketches and 3D models. It is important to write it down on a piece of paper and not on your phone in notes; this allows you to look at this idea and inevitably develop it when you are busy with something else.
6. Could you describe a typical day of your work ?
I wake up, cook breakfast, do cardio; it’s 1 hour at a brisk pace. During cardio, I do thought visualization, it’s like meditation for me. Next, I sit down at my desk, look through my list of ideas, cross out the bad ones, and develop the good ones. And so on until late at night. This is a typical day for me.
7. Why did you choose the specific materials you work with ?
I am not limited to any one material, but I like certain techniques that can characterize all my work.
8. What are the technical particularities of your creations ?
They are all unique and each item has its own characteristics, but they all appear in the form of realistic 3D images.
9. What advices could you give to beginning artists who would like to create sculptural design works ?
Analyze the design field, but don’t lose who you are.
10. If your works had to belong to a design movement, in which one would you define it ?
Objectification of everything that surrounds us is based on internal sensations.
11. What designers and artists have influenced you ?
Previously, I could name an exact list of those who influenced me, but now not, there are a lot of them. People are inspired by people, I think that each of us is the totality of what we saw and heard, illuminated through the projector of individuality.
12. What contemporary designers do you appreciate ?
Everyone has something special.
13. What contemporary artists (in any kind of art) have you been inspired by ?
When I first started, I was influenced by the creativity of Sixnfive.
14. If you had to summarize your creations in one word or sentence, what would it be ?
Objectification
